Luwak Brew

I created a beer package whose concept is Kopi Luwak, a coffee made by extracting coffee beans from the excrement of an animal called a civet. The reason I decided to design beer packaging is because I love the illustrations on craft beer labels. I also have books on various craft beer designs that I like to look at so I wanted to try my hand at designing packaging. I was interested in illustrations using geometry, so I tried this genre for the first time. I also tried to design the beer in such a way that you could tell at a glance that it was a coffee beer. To do this, I used warm colors reminiscent of coffee, and everything in the illustration is related to coffee or beer, and the patterns are also coffee (for example, the wavy lines drawn under the Turkish coffee represent sand). Looking at a photo of a civet, I changed the pattern to coffee beans, tried to draw a color similar to coffee and played with the pattern. This was my favorite part, and it was the most fun to draw too. For the logo, I took the initials of the brand, and drew wheat on the L part, and drew the B part to look like a coffee bean. I’m happy to have been able to make the two elements of wheat and coffee visible in the logo. The brand name comes from luwak (civet) in coffee kopi luwak and Brew, meaning that it’s made by mixing coffee and beer. The Luwak Brew font was created in my typography class.
